Whiting Power Systems Now Sells and Services Yanmar engines
Whiting Power Systems has been appointed an authorised Yanmar service provider by the brand’s national distributor, Blue Pacific Yanmar, which is a division of Power and Marine Ltd.
Whiting Power Systems will sell and service Yanmar diesel engines between 10 and 500 horsepower, and stock a range of Yanmar spare parts at its workshop and showroom facility within Orams Marine Village, Westhaven, Auckland.

To facilitate the transfer of brand specific tooling and skills Whiting Power Systems has purchased Blue Pacific Yanmar’s service division, Yanmar Engineering Services. Four Yanmar engineers and an administration assistant have joined Whiting Power Systems’ staff, with one engineer filling the position of workshop foreman to ensure the acquisition is integrated smoothly and seamlessly.
Yanmar Engineering Services will now operate as a wholly owned division of Whiting Power Systems and Blue Pacific Yanmar will concentrate on wholesale services.
Tony Whiting, managing director of Whiting Power Systems, says Yanmar customers will gain from Whiting Power Systems’ comprehensive marine engineering expertise, complementary brands and extensive workshop facilities that open on to Orams Marine Village’s hardstand yard.
“We can position a yacht or powerboat on the marina or hardstand, a short distance from the workshop, which makes it very efficient to custom build items required to complete a rebuild, repower or maintenance jobs.”
The addition of Yanmar to Whiting Power Systems’ established brands - MAN and Lugger diesels, Northern Lights generators, Hundested variable pitch propellers, Aquadrive drivelines, Cruisair and Marine Air air-conditioning and Eberspacher diesel heaters – will enhance their diverse and quality product range. Whiting Power Systems will continue to support their existing engine sales customers.
