Built
with maximum longevity and low lube oil consumption in mind,
the L6170A represents the return of "Big Six" power.
This design is perfect for installation in large vessels,
in terms of matching shape profile and lowering maintenance
costs.
When
compared to competitive engine types, the L6170A has the advantages
of size, fewer moving components, lower fuel and lube oil
burn, and exceptionally long time-between-overhaul intervals.
A
gear-driven jacket water pump and centrifugal type raw water
pump assure the utmost in reliability. A mechanical automatic
injection timer means precise fuel injection without dubious
electronic boxes.
The
L6170A has proven istself in Alaskan tour boat operations
and in pushboats on the Mississippi, where it has logged tens
of thousands of hours of dependable service.
