The turbocharged and aftercooled Lugger L6140AL2 is a highly refined diesel that provides impressive power for its size and weight. One of the more significant features is its freshwater aftercooler.

Based on an industrial-duty block from Komatsu - a world leader in engine technology - it incorporates advanced features you won't find on any other engine.

A freshwater aftercooler means the aftercooler element is not subjected to corrosive seawater. Also, during extended periods of running light loads, the aftercooler actually warms the charge air. This results in a uniform combustion temperature, more complete combustion, less white smoke, and prevention of carbon deposits.
