The
L6125A and larger Luggers incorporate an all-iron combustion
design with wet liners and nodular iron pistons. Features
like a freshwater cooled gear oil cooler and PTO options make
this engine an easy choice.
Over
the last decade, hundreds of L6125A engines have become the
mainstay of Alaskan fishing fleets. The pistons are all nodular
iron, coated with Tuftride, an extremely hard surface that
absorbs oil.
Ceramic
seals on the fresh water pumps on all larger Luggers eliminate
a trouble spot found on many diesels.
The
fuel delivery system eliminates any chance of oil dilution.
Rebuilds are easy thanks to wet liners and individual four-valve
cylinder heads.
A
special intake filter/silencer makes the L6125A one of the
quietest diesels in its size range.
